

It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the eternal soul of Daniel "Danny" Chavez, affectionately known as Chavo, of Grand Prairie, TX, passed away surrounded by family on March 17th, 2024, at the age of 47.
Chavo was born on September 8th, 1976, to Gonzalo Chavez and the late Enriqueta "Queta" Arevalo Chavez. He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother, Ricardo "Ricky" Chavez. Daniel is survived by his father, Gonzalo Chavez, and his siblings: Gonzalo "Gus" Chavez, Jr., Rene "Eddie" Chavez, and Belinda Chavez-Moreland.
Daniel graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 1994 and went on to pursue his passion for music. He spent the next 30 years of life, using his God given talents, to entertain people. Danny was such a gifted musician and showman. His music had a way of lighting up a room, just like his infectious laugh and joyful personality.
Daniel had a heart of gold and a genuine authenticity that drew people to him. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others on a deep level, making friends easily and bridging gaps between different friend circles. Danny’s willingness to embrace every moment with happiness and a big smile made everyone around him feel comfortable and at ease. A gift he shared graciously.
In remembrance of Daniel Chavez, let us celebrate the joy and genuine spirit he brought into our lives. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his larger-than-life personality and his unwavering love for family, friends and all those around him. Vaya con Dios, mi amigo.
A celebration of life to honor Daniel's legacy will take place on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Grand Prairie Funeral Home located at 733 Dalworth St, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 in the Chapel. Rosary starting at 6:00 PM with Service to follow. In lieu of flowers and plants, monetary gifts can be made to the funeral home or Gonzalo Chavez to help defer funeral costs.
