Dolores Martin, 85 entered into rest on February 25,2020. Dolores was born on September 13, 1934 to Orrin and Vera Goodwin in Jackson Michigan. She was a devoted Catholic and faithful prayer warrior who truly lived a life that walked by faith, and not by sight.
Dolores is loved by her 11 children and their spouses, 30 Grandchildren, 17 Great grandchildren. Along with her sister in laws, nieces and nephew. Lifelong church Friends, longtime neighbors, and her newly befriended buddies at Mountain Creek and Walnut Creek.
Dolores was raised in Jackson Michigan where she met the love of her life, Glenn Martin. While awaiting his discharge from military service, she worked as a car hop at the local A&W root beer stand and proudly bragged about her roller skating skills. They married on January 17, 1953 and immediately started a family. In 1965 they loaded up their 7 kids and moved to Texas where their family continued to grow, and lived out their love story. She spent most of her younger years volunteering as Moms Taxi service between school, home and sporting events for any kid that happened to jump in the back seat. She rarely put herself first and was known as one of the most selfless people you’d ever meet. She enjoyed family gatherings, girls trips, casino outings with any one of her kids that would take her. Her hobbies included prayer, shopping, camping, family vacations, President of the Silver Leaves, deanery lunches and an occasional trip to Sonic with her partner in crime and Best Friend forever, Dolores Tobola. In her later years, she proudly held the title of Hospitality Ambassador because she never let go of her strong will to be in the know.
She is preceded in death by her parents Orrin and Vera, her loving husband Glenn Martin, and beloved brother Tom Goodwin. Her brother in law Lyle Martin, son Mike Martin, and grandsons Steven Martin, Andrew Porter, & Ryan Martin.
