Donald K. Newby, 82, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2014 at his home in Texas. He was born August 10, 1932 in Manley, Iowa. He graduated in 1950 from Denison High School. Don had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Yellow Freight after many years. Don loved freshwater fishing, bingo and being with his family. He was also an avid sports fan. Don was preceded in death by his wife Blanche. He is survived by his companion, Barbara Cunningham; children, David Newby and Ellen, Kenneth Newby and Margie, Dawn Marie Dye and Brian, Janis Petry, Michael Cunningham and Holli; grandchildren, Erica, Andrew, Ryan, Courtney, Tyler, Travis, Ryan, Shelbi, and Malone; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Lucas, Brayden and Emma; siblings, Robert Newby and Wanda, Beverly McEuen and many, many friends. Visitation: 5 pm to 8 pm, Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie. Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Baker Chapel in Grand Prairie. Services will also be in Massachusetts.
