Doris Wynelle Edwards

Lonnie and Lena Hannah.

She graduated from Ladonia High School in 1950 and married James Edwards on November 22, 1951. She graduated from Marcum Hospital School of Nursing in 1963 and in 1966 they settled in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was a long time office nurse for Dr. Myron Jones in Grand Prairie, Texas. She enjoyed reading, baking and visiting Las Vegas. Doris participated in the Hospital Auxiliary for DFW Hospital until they closed then she joined the Hospital Auxiliary for Arlington Medical Center. She was loving, nurturing, generous and an enormous Texas Rangers Fan.

Preceded in death by her husband James Edwards, daughter Sara Meyer and grandson Tracy Elder.

Survived by her children: Mike Edwards, Janelle Buchanan and husband Don, Joe Edwards and wife Laura; grandchildren: Kelli, Sara, Rebecca, David, Emily; 4 great-grandchildren, siblings: LJ Hannah, Doug Hannah, Jim Hannah and wife Wynelle.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Grand Prairie Funeral Home from 6-8pm.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Ladonia Cemetery at 1pm.
