

Elpidio Tagulao Aviles(79) passed away June 7, 2013 in Irving, TX. He was born in the Philippines on September 2, 1933 to Simon Aviles and Maria Tagulao, he was the 2nd of 9 children. Elpidio was very kind and generous man who was respectful to everyone he met. He wanted to be a doctor and built his own library of health and medical books. He could be very shy and enjoyed the comfort of his books. In the Philippines Elpidio was a college professor and business man. He lived next door to his soon to be wife Gertrudes. They would often make signals through their windows to each other. On August 1, 1959 they married and spend more than 53 years in love. After their 2 daughters were born, they decided to move to the United States in 1980. Elpidio enjoyed watching golf and tennis. He would often enjoy trips to Half Price Books, a glass of red wine, and traveling all over, Europe being among his favorites. He was a very active man; walking 2 miles every morning and resisting retirement as long as possible. Some of his favorite things included his SMU hat and all his shorts. He is preceded by his parents Simon and Maria; Sister Pricillia Maclang; Brother Maximo Ocampo. He is survived by his wife Gertrude; daughter Aretha Velasquez and Alma Cruz; grandchildren Hazel Guideng, Christian Velasquez, Ashley Velasquez; sisters Modesta Malto, Aurora Garrison, Avelina Deblois, Cecilia Singson, Julieta Delmundo; great granddaughter Hannah Guideng; nephew Rolando Deblios; cousin Faye Sajonas and numerous other cousins.
