Erma grew up in Garner, Texas and graduated from Milsap High School. She met the love of her life Carl W. Overman at Garner Baptist Church while he was stationed in the area for the military. It was love at first sight and they were married February 28, 1957.
Their family was stationed overseas in Germany for several years before settling in Grand Prairie, Texas in 1976. Erma was a strong but loyal woman who enjoyed cross-stitch and bingo. She was a license cosmetologist, loving wife, caring mother and the best big sister to her baby sister Jane. She was fun and family oriented, loving spending time at the beach and in her yard. She enjoyed her flowers and decorating for the holidays.
Erma is preceded in death by her husband Carl Wesley Overman Sr.; children: Carl Wesley Overman Jr., Debbie Gene Green and sister Claudene Busby.
She is survived by her son Gary Overman and his wife Shay; grandchildren Nicole McKinney, Kevin Everly; great-granddaughter Aurora Everly; siblings: Johnny Dater and his wife Mary, Iva Bernice Panel and her husband Jim, Jesse Dater, Joyce Fergueson, Jane Buzzard and numerous nieces and nephews.
