

Ernestina "Tina" Bueno was a loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a friend and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Tina will be remembered for her beautiful smile and loving personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Anita Gonzalez and niece, Linda Ann Alvarado.
Tina was born and raised in Fort Stockton, TX. She had one sister, Erlinda Esparza. As a young girl, she had severe asthma. She was an honor student even though she had many absences due to her illness. Tina's memorable achievement was receiving a plaque when she graduated from elementary school for most excellent student. As a child, she liked to spend time with her best friend, Paula. Paula, Estefana and Tina would sit in Paula's dad's truck, and he would play the guitar while they sang. She had a beautiful voice.
She graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1961. She was recognized for her typing skills which earned her a secretarial job with a lawyer. She had the most beautiful handwriting. Tina was on the cheerleading squad which was a progressive move because minorities usually were not chosen to participate. While growing up, some of her best friends were Paula, Santa, Olga Pena, and Alvina Duran. and they were known as the "Blueberry Hill" girls. In high school, Tina played volleyball. She was on the varsity team and quit her senior year because her coach did not provide her with a letter jacket. She joined choir and was very proud that she lettered in choir. She got her jacket!
Tina's primary goal in life was to raise her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with love and putting God first. She loved her grandchildren and would not miss attending their activities. She enjoyed watching the Cowboys and Texas A&M football.
Tina was an active and devout member at her catholic church and sang in various choirs. Tina's favorite pursuits were maintaining her morning prayer routine and attending mass. She always had a candle burning for those that had called her and requested prayers. She was a member of various prayer groups. Tina’s faith was most important to her. She was very proud of attending a Crusillo.
Tina passed away on March 4, 2022 at Melissa, TX. She went to her heavenly home due to complications attributed to her congestive heart failure. She is survived by her children: Alma Pettit and her husband Tony, Juanita Bueno and her wife Dianna Stewart, Robert Bueno and his wife Patty, Delma Gonzales and her husband Felix; her grandchildren Joshua (Fiancé Jessica), Jennifer, & Jessica Gonzales, Nikki & Nick Pettit (Fiancé Anhelica), Richard (wife Samantha), Victoria (Fiancé Matt), and Patrick Bueno; & great-grandchildren Grayson and Liam Pettit. Services will be held at St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic Church in Grand Prairie, Texas. Tina will be laid to rest at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.
Simply stated, Tina was a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of her family and friends’ lives. The most prestigious award she earned was being the best mom, grandmother and great-grandmother that anyone could ever ask for. Tina leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember her fondly.
A visitation for Tina will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Beltline Road, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052, with a Rosary service beginning at 6:00PM. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 2910 Corn Valley, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A committal service will occur Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
