

Faith Ann (McMillan) Adams, 71 of Grand Prairie, TX passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. She was surrounded by loving family and friends and the wonderful nurses, caregivers and staff of Heritage Oaks Residence and Rehabilitation Center in Arlington, TX. Faith Ann was born July 24, 1944 in Terrell, TX (Kaufman County) to Alva Myrtle (Monroe) & James Cleole McMillan. Survivors include daughters: Amanda & son-in-law, Michael Hunt; Karen & son-in-law, Selwyn Gay; Robin & son-in-law, Guy Evans; grandchildren: Harlow Hunt, Harrison Hunt, Helena Gay & Shelby Evans. She was known to her grandchildren as “Lolly” and her husband, Jim, was “Pop”. Together, their names made a sweet combination. Other survivors include in-laws: BarBara (Adams) & Walter Matthews, Joan Adams, and Robert “Bob” & Jessie Adams; and several nieces and nephews. Faith also leaves behind life-long family friends, Phil & Linda (Cooper) Richardson. Faith Ann was a 1962 graduate of Grand Saline High School in Grand Saline, TX. In college, she studied Education, earning her Undergraduate Degree (B.S.) and Master’s Degree (M.Ed.) from Texas Christian University. She met Jim in the TCU Horned Frog Marching Band. Faith Ann was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. They married on July 30, 1966 at Colfax Methodist Church, Colfax, TX. They honeymooned in Grand Teton National Park, WY. As an only child, Faith Ann had always hoped for a big family when she got married and her wish was granted with three daughters, three sons-in-law and four grandchildren. She began her 40+ year career in Public Education in 1966 which spanned from Elementary schools to Administration/Curriculum Development & Training. In 2007, she retired as a Language Arts Coordinator from the Irving Independent School District. Prior to Irving, she worked in the Grand Prairie & Dallas Independent School Districts. Education was dear to Faith Ann’s heart and she instilled and inspired in her own children and grandchildren, as well as her many students and co-workers, the importance of school and learning. She was the organist at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Grand Prairie, TX for over 30 years. After retirement, she and Jim were Campground Managers in Grand Teton National Park, WY for 5 summers. She loved Horned Frog Football and was an accomplished musician. Faith Ann enjoyed researching genealogy and reading. She was member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She and Jim were also members of the North Texas Unit of the WBCCI, an RV Club for Airstream Owners. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George “Jim” Adams along with her parents, James Cleole McMillan & Alva Myrtle (Monroe) McMillan.
