He spent most of his youth in his hometown of Terral, Oklahoma. Dick served in both the United States Navy and Army from April 1943 to August 1951. He was also a member of the Sam R. Hamilton Masonic Lodge for over 70 years.
Having been on duty at the Dallas Naval Air Station, it was only fitting that he settled in Grand Prairie, Texas where he met the love of his life Barbara Bond. The two were wed in July 1952 and were happily married for 58 years.
He is survived by his daughter Dixie Adamcik, son Steve Nelson and daughter Elba Marie Bond, 6 grandchildren as well as a host of great grandchildren. Dick was preceded in death by parents John and Marie, wife Barbara and son in law Mike Adamcik.
Dick was a well-known car dealer having owned Dick Bond Used Cars of Grand Prairie for 42 years. He had a great sense of humor, a nickname for everyone and the kindest supportive heart for his family and friends.
A cryptside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
