Gretchen A Johnson

Gretchen A. Johnson, 89, passed away at 7:29 on July 12, 2013 in Dallas, TX surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Gretchen was born December 25, 1923 in Wilton, Iowa to Attorney Fredrick A. Martin and wife Pearl Feltman Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband Pat Johnson in 1958, daughter Linda Graf, sisters Elizabeth Martin, Mildred Fields and Mary Lange. She married Marvin "Pat" Johnson May 8, 1943 in Amarillo, TX. Survivors include her children, Susan Votroubek, of Bettendork, IA, Jane (Mike) Stone, of Houston, TX, Nancy (Dennis) Bennett, of Grand Prairie, TX.,eight grandchildren, Kimberly Pfeifer, Joe (Meg) Votroubek, Susan (Brent) Walker, Lindsay and Tessa Bennett, Clint, Abby, and Sam Stone, and great grandchildren,Cole, Blake, and Bella Walker, and Liv Pfeifer. Gretchen Johnson was the kindest mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She kept her family amused by her fondness for current events, couponing, tending to her flowers, the Mavericks and Rangers, Pizza Hut cheese pizza, Hawaii, a feisty personality, her advice, kindness and support, which was always needed and appreciated by every member of her family. She will be sadly missed. Gretchen will be buried Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 10:00 am at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.
