

Guadalupe H. Rangel went to be with her Lord December 19, 2013. She was born in Fentress, TX, January 12, 1948 to Macario and Juanita Hernandez.She grew up in San Marcos, TX with aunts, uncles and cousins,left school at an early age to work to help provide for family. In 1963 while working at the cotton gin she saw a man, watched him till one day he was gone. In 1966 she would see him again driving around a local park. She still didn’t get a chance to talk to him. Later that year she was set up on a blind date, and it was him, the man she had seen so many times and never talked to. She and Victor began dating November 10, 1967, married and in January 1969 moved to Dallas, and started a family. October 1971 they moved to Grand Prairie where their house was built. As their family continued to grow they became members of Immaculate Conception of Grand Prairie, Guadalupe worked as a cosmetologist, enjoyed things such as sewing, talking on the phone and baking. She was known for her homemade tortillas, rum cake, chicken pot pies and other entrees. Her loving and caring nature made their home a place that the children of Grand Prairie never wanted to leave.Guadalupe has a strong devout faith. She loved reading the bible and to pray, didn’t matter where or for what. Above all she loved her family, adoring her children and spoiling her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Juanita Hernandez, brothers Joe and Tony Hernandez.Survivors: husband of 46 years Victor J. Rangel Sr.; daughters Anna Jones and husband John III, Melinda Rangel and fiance Chris Barrera, Raquel Munoz and husband Mauricio III; son Victor J. Rangel Jr.; grandchildren Lorenzo Rangel, Lauren Munoz and Mauricio Munoz IV; father Macario Hernandez Sr.; sisters Olga McCormick, Gloria Subia, Mary Rangel; brothers Macario Hernandez Jr., Jesse Hernandez Sr. and Richard Hernandez.Active Pallbearers: Victor Rangel Jr., Nicole McCormick, Jesse Hernandez Jr., Eric Rangel, Lorenzo Rangel Honorary Pallbearers: Mauricio Munoz IV, Dr. Michael Gomez
