Our beloved Jeanne Blue left us on February 25, 2025. She was a big personality in a small package who had impact on each person she interacted with. She was kind, loving, and full of joy. Jeanne lived her life to the fullest.
She was born in Shamokin, PA on July 25, 1933 to Oscar & Helen (Rabuck) Hirt who preceded her in death along with her brother, William Hirt and is survived by her brother, Robert Hirt, of Shamokin, PA.
She married Jason Patterson in 1952 and they welcomed their three daughters, Linn, Lisa and Jill. The family settled in Dallas, Texas in 1968.
In 1979 she married the love of her life, Dorsey Blue and welcomed his son, Shawn, into our lives. Dorsey preceded her in death in 2015.
Dorsey and Jeanne loved to travel and took many cruises with good friends to many parts of the world.
As the consummate lady, Jeanne never left the house without perfect hair and makeup and dressed to the nines. One of her greatest pleasures in life was shopping - especially for jewelry. She loved her “bling”!
Jeanne was a strong, independent woman who could be (and usually was) extremely stubborn and obstinate. Once she dug her heels in, there was no moving her.
Her greatest accomplishments and joys were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved fiercely. She cherished our family trips together and the many memories we made. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, the best hugs and burning the rolls at every family dinner.
Jeanne leaves behind her daughters, Linn (Patrick) Moore, Lisa (David) Williams, Jill (Greg) Stover and son, Shawn (Traci) Blue, her grandchildren, Cameron Cummins, Kyle Williams, Kane (Heather) Williams, Matthew Stover, Madison Stover and Robert (Kassidy) Blue as well as her great grandchildren, Alex (Leah) Alomar, Noelle (Elijah) Dantzler and Nash Williams.
She also leaves behind to mourn her loss, her dearest friend, Abel Lopez and a heartbroken & supportive group of relatives and countless friends.
We would like to thank her caregivers and the wonderful staff at the Assuage House who were so kind and compassionate to her and to us in her final months.
There will be a memorial service for Jeanne on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, Texas with internment at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery immediately following.
