

John Francis Dvorak, age 72 of Grand Prairie, passed away on November 5, 2022. He was born on March 9, 1950 in New York, New York, the son of Frank W. Dvorak and Adelaide Osik Dvorak. John married Janice Barger and they celebrated 50 years of marriage together before his passing.
In addition to his wife Janice, John is survived by his children Chad Wheeler and girlfriend Melany White and David Dvorak and girlfriend Ana Lira; grandson John Robert Dvorak; twin sister Jeanette Maska and husband Rick; brother in law David Barger; and a large extended family. John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law, Glenn Wayne Barger.
John was born in New York and moved to North Texas at a young age. He attended the University of Dallas and received his Bachelors of Arts in Humanities. He worked at John Sexton and Company, where he met his wife, Janice. He later worked for Bell Helicopter and retired after 26 years of service as a manager in the warehouse division and even lived for a period in Iran while working for Bell Helicopter International.
John had strong roots in his faith and was active as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, volunteer for VBS programs, and sang in the choir at Lakeview Baptist Church and most recently at Inglewood Baptist Church. John was selfless and devoted much of his free time to giving back to his family and his community – including he assisted in the founding of the North Texas Food Bank. In his spare time, John loved spending time with his family, cooking and grilling, and writing – including his book “Nobody’s Child.” John has a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh – both of which will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
A celebration of John’s life will be at 11:00am on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Inglewood Baptist Church, Grand Prairie. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00am until the time of service.
