

John was born May 14, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, and was a graduate of Lafayette High School. He was a US Navy Veteran, a retired Fireman/paramedic and an Aircraft Mechanic. He served as a First Responder for 18 years and worked for American Eagle for 8 years.
John married Loreta Torres on December 21, 1990, and they were married for almost 35 years.
John's hobbies included fishing, hunting, model airplanes and trains, baking and gardening. He was known as a Jack of All Trades.
John is survived by his spouse, Loreta Torres Nave, his sons, John, Jr., Matthew, Kevin, Kent, and Julius, his grandchildren, Kianna Jade, Kaeden Jacob, Jayden, Joshua, Kent Kaleb, Kyle David, and Kailey Rae, sisters, Emma Sue and Richard Wilson and Anna Lee and Butch Locklar; and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, William David Nave and Ruth Cox Nave and his late son, John David Nave II.
A visitation will be held at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, located at 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX, 75050, on December 4, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The funeral service will follow at the same location on December 4, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
A committal service is scheduled at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX, 75211, on December 8, 2025, from 9:00 am to 9:15 am.
