God bless the Herrera family. My prayers are with you all

Mi respeto Para la familia,y nuestro mas Grande pesame departe de nuestra humilde familia. Our most sincere sympathy and condolonces on behalf of our humble family.

On behalf of Paul and Nancy and Andy, Nellie and Max Gonzales we offer our condolences to Tia Elva and our cousins Joe, Johnny, Jerry, Cindy and Jimmy. We love you guys and may God bless you all. Tio will be missed but not forgotten??????????????????

Dearest Elva,

Meeting you was a blessing from God.  I had just lost both my parents and going through a very difficult time in my life. Mr. Herrera's words of wisdom did not fall on deaf ears.  He advised me with stories of his own youth, family and life struggles.  His advise was to let "Our Lord" guide me and remember that I was not alone.  

At Santa Clara we volunteer an x amount of time, but I went over my hours because I enjoyed talking to you both!  Volunteering there was serving me more than I was serving my duties as a parent.  It is so because I met two wonderful people.  

Mr. Herrera was a true servant of God.  He greeted each child that walked by with a personal touch.  He never was generic with his hellos. 

With a heavy heart I told my children who remembered him instantly, though you both have not been at Santa Clara.  Lilly remembered that he always made her and the classmates laugh.  Baby Danny swears he had to of helped you make THE BEST SPAGHETTI.  I believe he did because women cook best with love...and the way you two carried on not only made me blush!!! It reminded me of what a true marriage is.

Thank You so much for sharing so many stories of your youth, courtship,marriage and life.

He is resting now and may the memory of his time on earth hold you till you meet again. 

To the children of Mr. Herrera, I know what it is like to lose a father and there will be times you will wonder if you failed him in anyway.  I am a stranger to you and my words may not console you at this time of sorrow, but I want you to know that your father praised each and everyone of you.  His sons and daughter were his joy and not once did he ever complain as other parents do to strangers.  He was loyal, sincere, kind and often made me walk away from the table with a lump in my throat when he expressed his faith and wisdom. 

Mrs. Herrera I give you a big tight hug from afar and thank you for sharing your stories.  God Bless you and your family during these hard times.

God has him in his Glory while you all have him in your heart.

A great man he was. Proud to call him mi Suegro no matter what!!! I loved him like a father . Your job on earth is done. Now to reap his rewards in Heaven.

My deepest sympathies for the loss of Papa Joe. I last saw him and Mama Elva about three weeks ago or so as they walked into church. I'm grateful that my last interaction with them included a hug. My parents are long-time friends and my brothers and I went to school with their children, so they feel like family! May Papa Joe forever rest in the peace of God, and may his family be comforted by the good memories left behind and in the embrace of family and friends.

We will always miss you, you were a great suegro and I will never never forget how you treat my children with your kind heart.

Sorry for your loss but come to think about it he's in a better place with no pain just lots of joy RIP TIO Jose

2 Sundays ago, even though he felt bad, he was still willing to be a Eucharistic minister.........He and Mrs Elva have always shown such strong faith! !!!
