

Señor Juan Antonio Núñez Rodríguez (aka Librado) age 83 passed away on January 1, 2017 in Irving TX. He was born in La Lima, Baitoa, providence of Santiago, Dominican Republic on October 12,1933 to his parents Miguel Antonio Núñez Hernández and María Dolores Rodríguez Fernández.
Juan served for 10 years in the Dominican Armed Forces where he served as presidential guard to Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina. He immigrated to the United States in 1961 and lived in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY where he was a chef at Andrew’s Catering and a superintendent to several apartment buildings.
On October 31, 1983 he retired and moved to the countryside of Caguas, Puerto Rico where he enjoyed agricultural and animal husbandry. In 2013 he moved to Grand Prairie TX to be closer to his two youngest children. He spent his final days as a resident of Ashford Hall Nursing Home in Irving TX.
He is survived by his former wife Monica Ventura and his children: Altagracia married to Jose Negron, Martiza, Yolanda, Carlos (Deceased), Mireya, Magaly, Julian Antonio, Dora Dinora, José Miguel married to Everlidys Rosado, Magdalena married to Fausto Santos, Gregory Marino married to Francisca Vazquez, Francis Ivett, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He had 7 sisters and 2 brothers; Catalina Mercedes, Minerva Anatilde (Deceased), Rosa Nelia (aka Nelly), Zoila Mercedes, Zoila Miguelina, Basilio Antonio (Deceased), Juan Aridio, Gladys Milena and Carmen Gisela.
Juan loved to go fishing, play musical instruments such as the guitar, harmonica, trumpet, clarinet, accordion, the Dominican güiro and tambora. Through the tiling of the soil and harvest, he found communion with God. He was a humble, generous, and selfless individual and had an inherent childlike sense of joy. He loved and was loved by everyone that knew him.
