

Kenneth William Melville, Sr., 88, of Grand Prairie, TX, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Ken was born in Detroit, Michigan to Edmund and Mabel Melville on July 30, 1932, and spent his childhood in Detroit, Jones, and Three Rivers, MI. A veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, Ken served his country in the United States Army for 22 years, retiring at the rank of master sergeant lieutenant.
Ken was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He was likewise devoted to his church, Crosspoint Church of Christ in Grand Prairie, where he was a member and servant leader for over 40 years. He was a friend to all and his humor, wit, and joy will be remembered by those who were blessed to know him. Above all, Ken will be remembered as a caregiver. His healing hands and words, compassionate heart, and faithfulness will be his legacy.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Arlene Melville; his second wife, Judith Ann Melville; his grandson, Shane Michael Melville; his sister, Mary Scott; and his son-in-law, Brad Steele.
He is survived by his sons: Ken Melville, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne; Kurt Melville and his wife, Cathy; Gerald Melville and his wife, Rachel; Paul Melville; daughter: Pam Steele; stepchildren: Jevon Mallett and his wife, Michelle; Jason Mallett and his wife, Jessica. He also is survived by 16-grandchildren, 15-great-grandchildren, 2-great-great-grandchildren, and his brother, Gerald Melville, and his wife, Eleanor.
He will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with military honors. A celebration of his life will be held for immediate family at a later time. Donations in his memory may be made to Crosspoint Church of Christ (3020 Bardin Rd. Grand Prairie, TX 75052.)
