
He is survived by his sons, Mark Tipps (Kelley) and Bruce Tipps (Ann Marie); his grandchildren, Hunter, Autumn, Alexis, and Bruce II (Jessica); along with extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Milton Tipps, Sr. and Marguerite Hiatt Halbrooks; his beloved wife, Linda Jean Howard; and his siblings, John Milton Tipps, Jr., Charles Roland Tipps, Sr., James Dare Tipps, Margie Elizabeth Tipps Adkins, Elizabeth Tipps, Mildred A. Tipps, Robert Leon Tipps, Mary Joyce Tipps Swinford, Thomas Clifton Tipps, William Carl Tipps, and Yvonne Tipps Davenport.
Leland retired from Roadway Express, where he worked as a dedicated professional driver. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. Leland and his wife Linda later moved from Tennessee to Texas, where they established their home and lovingly raised their two sons in Grand Prairie.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather whose legacy lives on through his family.

A graveside service will be held at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052, US, on April 13, 2026, beginning at 12:30 pm.
