

Mildred May Atkins Zubriski passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. She was a caring and generous woman who, in her younger years, loved to shop, paint ceramics, crochet, sew, roller skate, play the slots and cook.
Mildred Atkins was born to Gideon and Eva Atkins in Charlottesville, VA on September 4, 1927. She married Walter Zubriski on January 22, 1955 and as a devoted Marine Corps wife made her home with him and her children across the US in North Carolina, Hawaii, California, Virginia, Mississippi and Texas.
Mildred dearly loved her family and was married over 52 years to Walter Zubriski, who preceded her in death in 2007. She had six children, John Jaskiewicz (deceased), Nina Malone (Charles) of Grand Prairie, Robert Jaskiewicz of Charlottesville, VA, Steve Zubriski of Grand Prairie, Felicia Markham of Arlington and Joseph Zubriski (deceased). She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Erin Malone of Grand Prairie, Matthew Malone of Irving, Brandon Zubriski of Arlington, Brittney Trimble (Cameron) of Jacksonville, FL, Jordan Acker (Sean) of Arlington, one great-grandson Riley Markham of Arlington, and several nieces and nephews.
She attended church at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where she made many friends.
She, her bright smile, and hugs will be missed by her family and friends.
