Burial will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm to 4pm at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home. Opal was born one of seven children on January 9, 1921, in Jack County, Texas, to the late Lee and Mary Lela (Hargrave) Shults. On October 8, 1947, she married Jack Lewallen, the love of her life, who passed in 2003 after 56 years of marriage. She is survived by her children: Bob Lewallen and wife Patti of Cedar Creek, Gerald Lewallen of Grand Prairie, and Lennie Murphy and husband James of Midlothian; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters: Juanita Hudson and Flaura Lee Bass; and many nieces and nephews. Though fraught with illness in her final years, she maintained a zest for life, concern for family, and her personal dignity. For these things she will be remembered and missed.“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
