Dean was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania on August 6, 1945 to Ordean H. Lohman and Elva Freet Lohman.
Dean was a Boy Scout and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He will always be remembered for his love of baseball-collecting baseball memorabilia, baseball cards, and books. He especially loved the minor league teams and made several trips out of state to watch them play. He could answer almost any question about baseball.
He was a lifelong member of the Disciples of Christ Church and was active for many years in his church's ministries. He graduated from the University of Dallas with a Bachelor's degree in History and did graduate work at Texas Christian University. He worked as an auto parts salesman, as well as aerospace parts salesman.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Ann Lohman.
Dean is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Sue Lindsay Lohman; brother, James Lohman; nieces and nephews, Rebecca May and husband Justin, Katie Dittman and husband, Dan, Jimmy Lohman and wife, Ashley, Joe Lohman and wife, Brittney and Alisha Lohman. He is also survived by cousins and numerous great-nieces and nephews; and a great-great-niece and nephew.
As per his wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes will be buried beside his daughter. There will be no service for his passing.
