

ARLINGTON, TX - - Paula (Flores) Smith age 91, passed away peacefully at Medical City Arlington Hospital in Arlington, TX on Tuesday, February 11th with her family by her side.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her sister Erlinda Burgess of Roanoke, AL; brother Juan Flores of Midland, TX; her three sons, Ron Smith Jr. of Florence, CO and his wife Laura Provenzano, Bob Smith of Grand Prairie, TX and his partner, Deborah Nunez, and Ross Smith of Richmond, RI and his wife, Mary-Beth. Grandchildren; Matthew Smith, his wife Elizabeth of Las Vegas, NV, and Michael Smith, his wife Bri, of Denver, CO, Casey Smith of Ft. Worth, TX, Robin Baker (Smith) and her husband Joe, of Ft Worth, TX, Zachary Smith of Richmond, RI (Ashley), and Jacob Smith (Emma), of Duxbury, VT. Great Grandchildren; Collin, Luke, and Reagan Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Elliot and Oliver Baker of Ft Worth, TX, Tucker Smith of Richmond, RI, and Josephine Smith of Duxbury, VT, numerous nephews & nieces. She was preceded in death by husband Ron Sr., her daughter Belinda, her parents Juan Bonilla Flores and Paula Cuevas Flores; and siblings Juanita Anzures, Longino Flores, Armando Flores, Benita Albarado, Victoriana Belen, and Juan Pereida.
Paula was a remarkably feisty soul that touched many lives. Her ability to find humor in most everything stayed with her throughout her life. Paula most enjoyed talking with her sister Erlinda for hours on end and her precious quiet time with her son Bob. There was never a day that she did not get dressed to the 9’s, with her hair done, and always ready to go! She missed her husband Ron terribly, she loved her boys, she adored her family.
Along with her husband Ron Smith Sr. (deceased) they were instrumental in initiating the investigation into what is known as the Porvenir Massacre.
A celebration of life will be held in the Odessa – Midland, TX area, date to be determined.
