

Born in Franklin County TX. Jean lived in the East Texas area graduating high school at Mt Vernon, and later went to business college in Dallas. She met Hollis Stewart on a blind date and after going together for four years, married on Sept 20, 1953, in a private home ceremony. There she gave Hollis the $10 for the preacher, and he wore a borrowed suit. She lived in Dallas preparing them a home until she joined him at Big Springs, TX and lived in a "chicken shack" while he served in the Air Force. Together they accepted Jesus, June 25, 1960, by going to the altar hand in hand. They have served the Lord faithfully ever since. They worked helping build Calvary Tabernacle Church in Grand Prairie, where she served as secretary for several years. After moving to the Decatur area, they attended Alvord Assembly of God and more recently attended Hilltop Assembly of God in Boyd, TX. She is retired from Dallas County Tax Office. Her hands have touched many lives through the years, by seeing needs that others would not see or know about, and by preparing and sharing many meals with others. She had a ministry of sending encouraging cards to shut-ins. A quiet woman of prayer and Bible reading, taking her troubles to the Lord. Survived by daughter Barbara Moore and husband Noel, son Robert Stewart, grandson Chadwick Moore, granddaughters Elisha Martin and husband Eric, Heather McCallister and husband Mason, great-grandson Brayden Polly, and great-granddaughter Annabelle Martin. Preceeded by parents Novella Mote Clawson and W W Clawson, brothers Oscar, Charmie, J.B., and Bo Clawson. Pallbearers are Robert Stewart, Kevin Stewart, Chadwick Moore, Noel Moore, Eric Martin, and Mason McCallister. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Fred Curry, Mr. Claiborn Young, and brother- in-law, Vernon Wayne Stewart. Pastor Bill Fitch officiating service.
