1936 – 2025
Raymond Oliver Coulbourn was born on May 14, 1936, to Charles Coulbourn and Viola Parks in Ainsworth, Iowa. He passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Lake Worth, Texas.
Ray grew up in Iowa alongside his five siblings. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War as a tank mechanic, earning the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal.
Following his military service, Ray spent much of his civilian career in the carnival industry, managing rides at fairs across the country. His proudest professional achievement was serving as the general manager of BLB Panorama, the company that operated the Texas Star Ferris Wheel at the State Fair of Texas.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Coulbourn and Viola Parks; his brothers, Robert and Richard Coulbourn; and his sister, Lorraine Coulbourn. He is survived by his sons William, Chad, and Travis Coulbourn; his brothers Charles and Louis Coulbourn; and Charlotte Coulbourn; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
