

Robert Glenn Cain, 69, passed away February 11, 2016. He was born in Dallas, TX on June 27, 1946 to Robert and Maurine Cain. Robert spent his early years in Grand Prairie, his family moved to Arlington when was 8. He was involved in Little League Baseball and Cub Scouts. In high school he participated in the DeMolays and graduated from Arlington High School in 1964. Robert briefly attended Arlington State College and then turned his attention to starting a family. He was drafted into the US Army at age 23 and served 2 years. He had an 11-month tour of duty in Vietnam. After his dischargee he worked for LTV, then joined the family business, Cain’s U-Haul in Arlington. Upon his parents’ retirement he moved to Ft. Worth, remarried and started a second family. He briefly worked in HVAC repair and then, in 1986, he achieved certification as a Respiratory Therapist, his true calling. He worked for John Peter Smith Hospital in the Neo-Natal care unit and in 2008, after over 20 years of service, he retired. He spent his remaining years in Arlington. Robert loved all sports. He excelled at fast-pitch softball and was an avid golfer. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, OU Sooners, Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, golf, tennis, women’s basketball and cycling, watching “every second” of the Tour de France. Punk, as he was affectionately called by family members, had a passion for scratch off tickets and a love of cats. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Robert Crawford Cain and Edith Maurine Craig Cain; son Robert Allen Cain; grandson Joshua Glenn Cain. He is survived by his children: Mark Cain, Lindsay Cain; grandchildren: Maegan Ford, Seth Cain; great-grandchildren: Noah Ford, Adilyn Boehme; siblings: Steve Cain, Kim Cain and spouse Lori Miller; aunts: Margaret Young and Hazel Thompson and many loving cousins.
