nephews the late David Jr. and Stephen Simons, nieces, Karen and Joan. Also Carol and
Mitchell.
He married March 21, 1936 to Marian Russell Hause, they resided for a number of years in
Aberdeen MD. They were married for 68 years. Both were dedicated Jehovah's Witnesses.
Marian was raised by her parents as a Christian and her family introduced Robert to the "Faith"
in the early 1930's. They attended together the historic Washington DC Convention in 1935, the
St. Louis, Mo. Convention in 1941, Robert built a small trailer that they took to the 1941
Convention and later the 1942 Cleveland Oh Convention. During this time Bob as he liked to be
called was a volunteer, full-time minister from 1939 until the early 1940's. And served in the
Aberdeen, Md, Congregation as It's presiding minister called at the time a "company servant."
Interestingly he was baptized in 1942 after serving as a pioneer for 4 years. Not uncommon at that
time as qualified spiritual men were needed during those difficult war years.
With children coming along he took his talent for trailer building and began selling trailers later
retailing them quite successfully. For many years on the Old Philadelphia-Baltimore highway was
the familiar sight of BOB SIMONS MOBILE HOME SALES. He was president of the Mid-
Atlantic Mobile Home Association for a number of years. The family later moved to Bradenton
Fl, where he continued in the mobile home business and he remained an active member of the
Bradenton, and later Palmetto Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He faithfully served some 80
years as a loyal Christian Witnesses of Jehovah. He was confident of the resurrection hope and
the day when Jesus Christ will call forth to life those sleeping the Memorial Tomb. JOHN 5: 28
Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will
hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.
