On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, Ronald William Miller, a loving husband and father passed away at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife Connie Mae McPherson Miller of almost 50 years, sons Troy, Shawn and Darrin, and grandchildren Austin, Courtney, Cameron, Kaiden, Adalyn, Colton and Sadie. He also has a large extended family with his daughters-in-law, brothers and sister, and many cousins.
Ronnie was born in Hagerstown, Maryland. He resided in Maryland and Florida before settling in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex area. Ronnie was a veteran of Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge.
Once he returned home, he and Connie met and were married on May 4, 1973 and lived in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Over the years, Ronnie loved spending time with his family. His passions in life besides his grandchildren were photography and baseball. Ronnie was most happy when attending his son’s and grandchildren’s sporting events or school functions. Especially, baseball games. He seldom missed a Texas Rangers game, whether by radio or television. Ranger games could always be heard in the background or seen on TV at home. Ronnie loved photography, and had a gifted eye behind the camera. Ronnie became so talented and acclaimed, that soon he was doing most of Grand Prairie’s sports team pictures and countless weddings as a professional photographer. Ronnie coached little league baseball, including his son’s teams. All these passions filled Ronnie’s heart with joy and accomplishment.
Ronnie also loved traveling, especially in his RV in more recent years; his favorite places to travel and take pictures were Colorado, Utah, California, Florida and Wyoming. Estes Park, Colorado was one of his more loved locations. Riding motorcycles, traveling with Connie and his family, and taking pictures was his happy place in life. If he wasn’t doing these things, he was dreaming of, or planning his next trip.
For his grandchildren, Ronnie was the best Pap ever. He adored all of them and enjoyed spending time camping, telling war stories and just being with them. His grandchildren were his life. His incredible gift of humor made us all smile. Teasing his grandchildren to make them smile or giggle made our hearts smile. Ronnie Miller lived his life with incredible love and passion for others. A few paragraphs summing up Ronnie’s life isn’t fair. His life was so much larger than a few paragraphs. Ronnie was a remarkably loving husband, father and the best Pap in the whole wide world. Ronnie Miller and his loving smile will live on in our hearts of all he touched.
Per his wishes no service will be held.
