Sabrina Lee Martinez

Sabrina was born March 15, 1989 at Arlington Memorial Hospital, in Arlington, Texas, to Garland Jeter and Lisa Acuff Podsednik. She has three sisters, Deann Jeter Garcia, Autumn McCarthy and Cindy Jeter and one brother, Cooper Hair. She was married to Joel Kemuel Martinez II on July 2, 2011 in Grand Prairie, Texas. She attended Swift Elementary in Arlington (where her love of singing started flourishing) until her family moved to White Settlement in 2000. In White Settlement she attended Tannaahill Intermediate School, Brewer Middle School, and Brewer High School.

Sabrina loved to perform, made many CDs for friends and family and even sang at Johnny High Country Music Revue. She performed and won the talent portion in The White Settlement Community Chest for 6 years in a row. She loved to sing Karaoke and would go as often as possible.

Sabrina was deeply in love with Joel, and even proposed to him after a scary movie marathon, scary movies being something they both appreciated. She really enjoyed reading Archie comics with Joel, as well as going to Red Lobster, her favorite restaurant. She had a pickle salt addiction, and was very fond of salsa sunflower seeds.

Sabrina had a youthful, free spirit, which was felt throughout her life. Throughout her childhood, she lived in her bathing suit, literally. As a regular dare, Autumn and Sabrina would buy tons of wars heads, and stuff as many as they could in their mouths, without making a face. They even bet their mom (Lisa) $5 she couldn't “hang”. They still owe Lisa that $5. Sabrina had a great love for animals, especially cats. Returning from a doctor’s appointment, Sabrina and her mother-in-law, Christy, found a stray kitten on the sidewalk of a neighborhood they were driving through. The kitten unfortunately did not work out in Sabrina’s home, however, Christy was able to adopt her, and the kitten is a continued reminder of the bond she and Sabrina had.

She is survived by her husband, Joel “JK” Martinez; father, Garland Jeter; mother, Lisa Podsednik and stepfather Ronnie; sisters Cindy Jeter, Deann and husband Jessie Garcia, Autumn and husband Philip McCarthy; and one brother, Cooper Hair; as well as grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Ann and Jack King, and her beloved cats, KittyCottontail and Chase.

Memorial Service for Sabrina Lee Martinez will be Friday, March 6, 2015 at 2:00pm at Matthew Road Baptist Church, located at 4601 Matthew Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
