Sandra Bailey, Sandy as she preferred, was born to Richard and Viola Bailey on October 28, 1964 in Washington state. Sandy was the youngest of 5 children. She is survived by her eldest brother Steve Jones (Barbara), nieces Tera Norton (Rick), Elizabeth Matute (Matt), Sarah Beede (Anthony) and nephew Steven Jones (Puja), 4 grandnieces, 5 grandnephews, 2 great-grandnieces, and 1 great-grandnephew.
She was a 1983 graduate of Bothell High School where she played the violin in the school orchestra and was first chair. In her early adult life Sandy was an active bow hunter, bringing down a 300 lb black bear with one prefect shot of her arrow. She was named the #1 female bow hunter for the entire state of Washington.
Sandy moved to Texas in 2015 and called it home for 9 years. Working a couple different jobs she eventually started work at AT&T. She always walked into work with a big smile, a warm hug and kind words for her fellow workers brightening every room she entered. Sandy thought of them as her second family, forming close bonds with many, both current and past co-workers.
If asked what she cherished most, she would say her family. One of Sandy’s greatest joys was her role as aunt/grand-aunt/great-grand-aunt to her nieces and nephews. Aunt Sandy never ended a conversation or visit without a “Love ya kiddo”. Her second love was books. Sandy was an avid reader, her favorite being the romance genre. She enjoyed online friendships with many of her favorite authors and online book club friends. Sandy also enjoyed painting and had started working on an original country scene recently.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Viola Bailey, sister Susan Harding, niece Carrie, brothers Calvin Bailey and Richard Bailey Jr.
