Sharon Jean (Winter) Bogle, age 82, formerly of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on March 26, 2025, at a memory care facility in Bee Cave, Texas. Sharon was born March 6, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Joe Mitchell and Jewell Faye (Hill) Winter. Sharon moved with her family frequently in her early years, including a brief stay in San Diego, California. The Winters eventually settled in Grand Prairie, Texas where Sharon attended Lee Middle School and then Grand Prairie High School.
Sharon graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1961. She married her high school sweetheart, C. Rea Bogle, on August 14, 1962 and they resided in Grand Prairie for over 53 years. Sharon was not only a devoted wife and full-time mom, but she was also a talented seamstress making many outfits for the family, including Halloween costumes for her grandkids. She served with the Grand Prairie B.P.O. Does organization, and The Woman’s Club of Grand Prairie. Sharon was a talented artist, with many of her paintings and drawings still proudly displayed by members of her family. She also enjoyed playing sports, with tennis and golf, her two favorites.
Sharon was ‘Grammy’ to her grandkids. She leaves behind many fond memories with them: ‘My favorite memory with Grammy is going over to her house after work and talking about life – past, present, and future’ – Cameron; ‘My favorite memory of Grammy is helping her cook when we would come visit! She made the best flautas and fried chicken!’ – Madelyn; ‘It’s hard to pick one memory. My tops are playing under the stairs and the start of my love for Scooby Doo watching her VHS tapes, her making my Dalmatian Halloween costume, and playing dress up in front of her big mirror’ – Paige; ‘I have fond memories of her singing Amazing Grace to me at bedtime, always having her gum drawer stocked up with Big Red, and she made the best chicken and ribs!’ – Hannah; ‘My favorite memory of Grammy is feeding the ducks in the pond behind their house. She always had food for us to feed the ducks and it was the first thing we would do when we arrived.’ – Elizabeth.
Sharon is survived by her sister Sheila Higginbotham, of Missouri; two children, son Cliff Bogle, Jr. and his wife Becky of Salado, Texas, and daughter Cristy Keating and her husband John of Spicewood, Texas; five grandchildren, Cameron Bogle and his wife Lucy of Miami, Florida, Madelyn Ketchum and her husband Derek of Tomball, Texas, Paige Bogle of Jackson, Tennessee, Hannah Turnquist and her husband Tony of Austin, Texas, and Elizabeth Keating of Houston, Texas; and two great-granddaughters.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Rea, her parents Joe and Jewell Faye, and her brother W. J. Winter.
Services are under the direction of Bean-Massey-Burge in Grand Prairie, and visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday, May 3, 2025, between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. A private burial will follow with the family in attendance. In lieu of any flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation to a charity of your choice which supports finding a cure for Alzheimer's. The flowers will be gone in a very short time, but a cure can help millions forever.
