Steve Jerome Mueck

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 with a rosary service to begin at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception, 610 NE 17th Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. Interment to follow in Holy Redeemer cemetery in Desoto, Texas.

Steve Mueck was born on September 26, 1928 in Travis, Texas to Steve and Francis (Morbiter) Mueck. He lived 18 years on a cotton and corn field in Cameron, Texas with his parents and his 8 siblings. Shortly after graduating from Yoe High in Cameron, Texas, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1948. Steve earned the rank of Staff Sergeant and spent over 2 years in Japan during the Korean War as a radio operator before being honorably discharged in 1952.

He married Ruth Peace on January 7, 1956 at the St. Edwards Church in Dallas, Texas and to this union a son, Timothy and daughter, Patricia was born. Steve retired from RCA Service Co. in 1988 after 36years as a TV Technician. He was a devout member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Grand Prairie. Since 1969, actively serving in the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry for 15 years, leading the Scout Troop 507 for 7 years, participating in the Knights of Columbus for 6 years and serving as President for the Legion of Mary for 6 years.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Francis Mueck; brothers, Herman, Joe, Albert, Otto, and most recently, George Mueck; and sisters, Martha Burkeen, Bertha House, Anna Williams and Matilda Senkel.

Steve is survived by his wife, Ruth of 66 years; son, Timothy Mueck and wife, Rebecca; grandsons, James Mueck and wife, Erika and Daniel Mueck; daughter, Patricia Morgan and husband, William (Randy); granddaughters, Deanna Hipo and husband, James and Jennifer Morgan; and great-grandson, Aiden.
