Tessie Merle Smith, 75, of Grand Prairie, Texas, died Saturday December 21, 2014. She was born to the late Thomas V and Tessie Reeves, September 12, 1938, in Pine Forest, Tx. Tessie graduated from Pickton High School, received a BA in Teaching from East Texas State University, and a Masters in Reading at TWU. She married the late Kenneth C. Smith of Sulphur Springs, August 25, 1957. They moved to Grand Prairie, in 1965. Tessie was a teacher in the Grand Prairie School district for 32 years, teaching first grade and remedial reading and was passionate about making a difference in her kids’ lives. Tessie is survived by two children, Scott Smith and Sonya Muldoon. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Ryan and Patrick Muldoon also of Grand Prairie. A memorial service for Tessie will be held on Sunday, December 29 at 2 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Grand Prairie.
