William Stephen McCollough

Steve was born in Nowata, Oklahoma on April 2, 1952, son of the late Willie Floyd and Lola Bell McCollough. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Nemia Gaye, his brothers, J.B. and Jarvis, and sisters, Dorothy Roe, and Lodema Faye Truitt. He is survived by his children, Gina and husband, Anthony McCullough, Marc and wife, Melissa McCollough, and Stacey and husband, Robert Akerman along with his grandchildren; Samuel, Alexander, Madison Rae, and Nemia Rain. He is also survived by his sisters Gwen Whitaker and Marcella and husband, Danny Lockman, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Steve served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Campaign and was stationed on the USS Enterprise. He received a Navy Unit Commendation, Battle “E,” Humanitarian Service Medal, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation.

Steve was the co-owner of Legends Sports Photography of Dallas. He retired from Frontier Airlines, formally American Eagle, in 2020.

Steve is best remembered for his beautiful smile, his unconditional love for his children and grandchildren. And let’s not forget his unwavering support for America’s team, the Dallas Cowboys as well as his great appreciation for K-dramas and video games. He dearly loved time spent with family and traveling with family. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 24, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and the funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11:30 am at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. A graveside service will follow at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
