

Albert W. Gordon, aged 80, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 surrounded by his family and was reunited in heaven with his wife of 56 years Gail. Al is survived by his children, Connie and Harvey Wierenga, Alan and Cheryl Gordon, Karen and Joe Klekotka; his grandchildren, Brad and Kelsea Wierenga, Matt and Laura Wierenga, Justin and Katie Wierenga, Adam and Tami Gordon, Lisa Gordon, Jessica Gordon, Matthew Allers, Katie Klekotka, Jon Klekotka, and Jacob Klekotka; his 11 great-grandchildren and many close nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friend Ruth Myler. Al proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Al retired after a long and successful career at Michigan Bell Telephone Company. He was also a devoted family man, car lover- especially his Cadillac, and had been an enthusiastic bowler. Al was an adventurous person, traveling to places like Las Vegas, Arizona, and Gulf Shores, visiting the spectacular sites and casinos. He loved to go to lunch and play cards with his close friends Dick and Mary, and Roger and Sharon. Please join Al’s family for visitation and celebration of his life on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 5-8pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Thomas Page, to take place on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11am at St. Jude Catholic Church with an additional hour visitation prior. Interment to be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. Please consider a memorial contribution in Al’s name to Spectrum Health Hospice.
