

Bernard J. (Bernie) Hull entered God’s heaven on Thursday, March 10th, 2011. He was born July 5th, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MI and was the son of the late Frank James & Marguerite (Westover) Hull. Committed to his faith and family, he will be missed by his dear wife, Peggy; his children Sandra (Jim) McClellan, Bruce (Nancy) Hull, Bryan (Marlene) Hull, Sydnee (Jerry) Clore; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Glenn and Dwight Hull, and one sister, Patricia Herlein. Bernie was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked in the Pentagon during the Korean Conflict. A homebuilder in Grand Rapids for 57 years, Bernie served two years as president of the Michigan Home Builders Assn. and one year as president of the Grand Rapids HBA. He was a member of the Gaines United Brethren in Christ Church and for 46 years was a board trustee for Huntington University, Huntington, IN. He was a long term board of director’s member at Byron Center State Bank. Loyal supporters of church missions, Bernie and his wife made two trips around the world visiting missionaries in Australia, Africa, India, and China. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gaines United Brethren Church, 1612 92nd Street, Caledonia, MI 49316, with Rev. Kelly Burnside officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill. Visitation will be held Saturday March 12th, 2011 from 4-7 p.m., Sunday 2-5 p.m.at Reyers North Valley Chapel, and one hour prior to the service
