Floyd Bishop Jr.

Floyd Bishop Jr aged 89 passed away one day shy of his 90th birthday on May 29, 2011. He was born to Floyd and Nancy Bishop and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He worked in several foundries in Muskegon before going on to work for the Muskegon County Road Commission then retiring from the City of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his three wives; Dorothy Schuitema, Virginia Bishop, Ida Bishop, son Eugene Bishop, daughter Sherylee Swiftney, Step-sons; Art Jordan, Frank Spytma and step-daughter Candace Barkel. He is survived by his children; Dawn (Tom) Wood, Diane (Terry) White, Kevin Bishop, 7 step-children, 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 10 great great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the care givers on 2 South at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans for the loving care. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Chapel of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans 3000 Monroe Ave NE with visitation one hour prior to the service.
