Francis "Bud" L. Dome peacefully passed away into our Lord and Savior Jesus’ arms on July 27, 2016 at the age of 88. Married to Ann [Bucic] Dome for 47 years, Bud was a devoted husband and family man. They loved to travel and spend time visiting family. Together they joyfully raised their children: Joe (Lucy) Szopa, Liz (Paul) Giret, George Dome and Margie (John) Weiss. They loved and enjoyed their grandchildren: Amy (Jeff) Hannick, Becky (Jason) Miller, Natalia (Thew) Mulholland, Paul Giret, Sasha (Fernando) Zuniga, Kristen (Rich) Dome, Shawn (Lauren) Weiss, Danny Weiss and great grandchildren. They were blessed with many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Bud’s heart was full of love yet to be given after Ann’s passing. He met and fell in love with John and Margie’s dear friend Nancy Ware. They were married in 2012, treasuring every moment together, planting a rose garden, sharing good old-fashioned music, dancing, and enjoying their beautiful home with family and friends. Bud was blessed with the talent of woodturning, giving his creations to those he loved and who appreciated the art of his unique craft, passing the torch to his grandson Shawn. He welcomed anyone interested, to join him in his workshop. He will be lovingly remembered by Nancy and his step-daughters Melissa Ware, Erin (Will) Ware, step-son Scott (Meghan) Ware, step-grandchildren Shiloh and Olivia, step-sisters Cheryl Goad, Barb Jakubielski, Amy Bostwick, step-brother Dick Bostwick; sisters Ellen Delany and Marie Hunter, and brother Donald Dome. They all knew of his love for God, country, and family. Bud proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Please join the Family for a time of visitation on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 1-3:30pm at St. James Lutheran Church (2040 Oakwood Ave. N.E. Grand Rapids, MI 49505). The memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 3:30 pm, with Rev. James H. Blain officiating. Please consider a memorial contribution in Bud’s memory to either St. James Lutheran Church or Habitat for Humanity of Kent County (425 Pleasant St SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503).
