

Hector Louis Dulude, 98, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 19, 2015. He was born in Bay City, MI, September 23, 1916, to the late Hector and Louise Dulude. Hector was an active member of St. Alphonsus Parish for 58 years serving with the “Hell Gang” cleaning crew. He was preceded in death by son Thomas and was the last remaining of his five brothers and sisters and their spouses. Hector is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Dorothy, their children Jeanne (Herm) Boruta, David (Marie) Dulude, and daughter-in-law Mary Dulude, grandchildren Matt Boruta, Michelle (Mike) Flaviani, Molly (Glenn) Rawlins, Beth (Eric) Arce, Kellie (Nick) Blainey, Mike, Audrey, John, Laura Dulude, and great-grandchildren Jake, Nate, Luke, Amelia, and Avonlea. Hector was a 4 year veteran of WWII as a sergeant with the United States Army, serving in Europe. He was a Bronze star recipient and his unit received the French Meritorious Service Award. He retired from the U.S. Department of Labor after serving 32 years, 20 of which were as an Area Supervisor. Hector was a dedicated and loving family man; he was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also an enthusiastic golfer and an avid bowler. A viewing will be held at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 5-8pm, with the rosary being prayed at 7:30pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Parish (224 Carrier St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505) on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11am officiated by Fr. Patrick Grile, with a time of visitation from 10 to 11am prior to the mass. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery with a private family service.
