John M. Sheehan, age 76, went to be with his Lord Sunday, January 13, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his close friend John Sloan; previous wife Barb Sheehan; son Mike (Mary) Sheehan; daughter Terri (Ben) Briggs; grandchildren Chad (Reva) Sheehan, Casey Sheehan, Chris (Shannon) Sheehan, and Caleb Briggs; great grandchildren Kayla Sheehan, Chase Sheehan, Camryn Hunt; siblings Sue (Ted) Steele, Judy (Dick) Morrison and Bob (Gloria) Sheehan. He was preceded in death by his brother Tim Sheehan and sister Connie Sheehan. John was known as a very generous, caring and kind man who would not hesitate to help someone in need. He selflessly served and protected his country while enlisted in the United States Air Force. Upon honorably exiting military services he utilized his many skills in various career fields. You may greet his family for visitation on Wednesday January 16, 2013 from 3:00PM– 4:00PM with a memorial service beginning at 4:00PM at Reyers North Valley Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
