

Jorge was born on June 6, 1965, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to the late Juan Antonio and Jovita (Cabral) Garcia. At the age of 14, he moved to Michigan, later making Grand Rapids his home for 27 years.
A proud member of LIUNA Local 1075, Jorge dedicated 32 years to the construction industry, specializing in bridge construction. He built a life defined by hard work, generosity, and integrity. While he took great pride in his career, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, whom he loved deeply.
Jorge enjoyed cooking—especially his authentic Mexican dishes and his famous barbecues. He loved dancing to Tejano music, traveling with his wife Sandra, spending time in his garage, watching boxing, and relaxing at his campsite.
Jorge is survived by his wife, Sandra (Campos) Garcia; his children Jorge A (Alicia) Garcia, Marcos (Raquel) Garcia, Jorge Albert (Yazmin) Garcia jr., Jovita Garcia, and Bianca Garcia “B” and his stepchildren Michael “Obe” (Laurie) Jimenez, Jose “Joe” (Erica) Jimenez, Sophia (Jonathan) Duron, and Cassandra “Cassie” (Armando) Ontiveroz. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and three sisters Graciela Ortega, Sylvia Ortiz and San Juana (David) Solís, and his beloved dog, Príncipe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Jovita Garcia, and his sister Maria Teresa Garcia brothers, Juan Garcia Jr. and Jose Garcia.
Jorge will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his kindness, his humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
A funeral service will be held on March 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum, 5950 Gratiot Rd., Saginaw, MI 48638. Following the Service at 4:00 p.m. at luncheon will be held at GraceValley Church, 4570 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603.
