

Kathleen Marie (Sheehan) Kaderabek passed from this life to the next on February 29, 2016 after a bout with cancer. She was born June 16, 1923 to parents Frank and Burnie Sheehan in Arena, Wisconsin, Iowa County. Along with her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her siblings Francis Sheehan, Curtis Sheehan, Mary Digney, Norman Sheehan, Betty Paling, Harlan Sheehan, and Robert Sheehan. Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years Paul and their three children, Lisa (Stuart) Warner of Riverside, Illinois, Paul Brian (Sarah) Kaderabek of San Diego, CA, Colleen (Terry) O'Brien of Wheaton, IL. as well as eight grandchildren, Benjamin and Rebecca Warner, Max and Jack Kaderabek, and Joseph, Bailey, Lucas, and Cecilia O'Brien. Also surviving is sister Peggy Reynolds along with sisters-in-laws Mary Krebs Sheehan and June Sheehan all of Madison, WI as well as brothers-in-law Leonard Kaderabek of Manitowoc, WI and Francis (Marge) Kaderabek of Norman, Oklahoma. Her family was all important to her. Kathy found her optimum occupation, teaching lower grades in elementary education. When she opened "The Boxcar Children" or "Charlotte's Web" she had the little students in the palm of her hand. She had studied for her Bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, WI and her Masters at Michigan State University at Lansing, MI. Previously, Kathy had taught at Avoca, Monroe, and Wauwatosa in Wisconsin and at St Peter & Paul's Catholic School in Grand Rapids and in the Grand Rapids Public School System. She was an active member of the ladies auxiliary of the Casino Club of Grand Rapids and of Blessed Sacrament Church where she was a lay distributor, a book club member, a Prayer Line participant and on the funeral luncheon committee. Kathy loved the Lord and the Lord loves her. She was a beautiful person who regularly subordinated her wishes to those of others. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday March 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 2275 Diamond NE, Grand Rapids MI 49505 with Father George Darling presiding. The family will greet friends on Thursday March 3, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel with Rosary at 7:30 pm and for one hour before the Mass on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Academy (2233 Diamond Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505).
