

Laurie Jean Dumdei, age 55, of Grand Rapids, entered into eternal life on February 8, 2014. Laurie was preceded in death by her husband Jeff Dumdei and her father John Walker. Survived by her children Samantha (Michael) Siegert and Joseph Walker; grandchildren Jack and Adalynn; her mother Gladys Walker; siblings Kathleen (Dan) Reeves, Eileen (Scott) Wagner, Michelle (John) Kugler, Daniel (Debra) Walker, Bruce (Kathy) Walker, Sharon (Jim) Johnson and Scott (Anne) Walker; aunt and great aunt of many; many caring friends whom were with her through her hard times. Laurie will be remembered by all for her grace and bravery, not only in the courageous way she battled her disease, but also for her strength in raising her two children alone after the death of her husband; children who were raised to believe that they were capable of anything. Laurie taught those around her the gift of critical thinking coupled with compassion. Her physical beauty endured her entire life as did her intellect and wit. She was a fighter who refused to give up and will be sadly missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Reyers North Valley Chapel. An evening Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Additional visitation Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 10 A.M. to time of Mass 11 A.M. at Saint Pius X Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Interment North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma, MI.
