LaVerne Rita (Brindisi) Murray, aged 88, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, February 2, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She will be long remembered as the Creston High School Elevator Lady and for her beautiful Christmas Village. She will be greatly missed by her children Eric Murray, Kim (Carl) Turek, Robert (Jill) Murray, Mary (Scott) Koster, and her 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. LaVerne was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 31, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Valenzano) Brindisi. She was preceded in death by her loving husband James Bernard Murray, and son Jamie Murray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Wednesday, February 6, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1120 4 Mile Rd. N.E, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Thomas Page as celebrant. Visitation on Tuesday, February 5, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with a Rosary at 7 pm, at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Additional visitation at church one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions to St. Jude Catholic Church.
