

Leslie Eugene Miller, age 98 of Grand Rapids MI passed away Thursday May 14, 2026, at home. He was born May 1st, 1928, in Grand Haven, MI to Joseph and Emma (Susterich) Miller. Les graduated from Grand Haven Highschool in 1946 and then served his country in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in April of 1948.
Upon returning, he met his beloved future wife Charlene Kay Ammerman on the Grand Haven beach, and they would be married over 60 years. He graduated in 1952 from Michigan State University. He worked 30 years for the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) retiring on July 31, 1987.
Les enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and many dogs of all shapes and sizes over the years. He loved going to car shows with his pride and joy, a 1963 Olds Convertible. He was very involved with the little league and his three sons, including serving as a coach and president of the Grand Rapids Northern Little League. He enjoyed skiing, canoeing, swimming, building, playing tennis and watching all Michigan State sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Emma Miller, his wife Charlene (Kay) Miller, His brothers Donald (Betty) Miller, Milton (Dorothy) Miller, and brother-in-law Melton Ammerman.
He is lovingly remembered by 3 sons Steven (Cathy) Miller, David Miller, Gary Miller (Ann Spain) and Daughter Jayne (Joseph) Fischer. 6 grandchildren Andrew Miller (Heather), Jana Miller, Lara DeWitt (Andrew), Joseph Fischer (Phoebe), Lindsey Fischer, Leslie Thomas (Nicholas); 13 great grandchildren Elise Miller, Liliana Miller, Penelope DeWitt, Violet DeWitt, Tucker Clute, Ardie Clute, Joseph Fischer, Weston Fischer, Ella Proctor (Kerry Myers), Ryder McBride, Nicholas Thomas, Ryan Thomas, and Zenner Thomas. One Great Great grandson Ozzie Myers.
A private family service will be held and interment will take place at the Lakeshore cemetery in Grand Haven MI.
