Matthew Lawrence Kleck

Matthew Lawrence Kleck, age 51 passed away on August 21, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. Matthew was born in Grand Rapids on April 23, 1970 to David & Christine (Beduhn) Kleck. Growing up, he attended Lincoln School and C-Bot Program.

Matthew was very active in the Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He even assisted with Scout Master duties. For many years, he participated in the Special Olympics and competed in numerous events. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed his friends at Friendship Bowling.

Most importantly, Matthew was a son, brother and uncle. He brought joy and happiness to every room he walked into. He was known for his warm hugs and perpetual smile. His light in this world will be missed.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Christine; his brother John (Connalee) Kleck; his sister Sandy (Rick) Frazine; his maternal grandmother Theresa Beduhn; his nieces and nephews: Anastasia (Wesley) Rykse, Talen, Connor, Aiden, Aramis, Joseph & Justin Kleck, Stevie Kubiak, Dominic, Christine & Emma Frazine and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father David in 2003 and his nephews David & Jeffy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
