Orville D Hoxie II, deceased August 21, 2012. He was born May 10, 1926 to Clarence Laverne Hoxie and Edna Donahue Hoxie. He was pre-deceased by his only son, Thomas A. Hoxie, his eldest daughter Cora Sue Hoxie Jefsen and only sibling, Brig. General Thomas B. Hoxie. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia along with two daughters, Sandra Louise Snellink (Larry), and Mary Ann Burns (David), Patricia’s only sister Joann Kruger (Jerry), son-in-law Warren Jefsen, along with many beloved grand children, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Orville was a life- long resident of Grand Rapids. He attended Creston High School, Notre Dame University and was an engineering graduate of the University of Michigan.
Visitation will be at Reyers North Valley Chapel, on Monday, August 27, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Memorial services to be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1025 Three Mile Road N.E., Tuesday, August 28 at 7 pm. Coffee and desert reception to follow service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Faith Hospice or the Porter Hills Foundation.
