Pamela Sue Robinson, age 77, passed away on November 16, 2025. Penny, as she was known, was born in Grand Rapids on December 27, 1947, one of three daughters born to William and Margaret (DeYoung) Robinson. She graduated from Union High School and was a lifelong resident of the area.
At just 17 years old, Penny settled into her first career working for Bell Telephone Company. She retired after 25 years. However, Penny just wasn’t ready to sit still, so she went back to work as a patient services representative at Butterworth Hospital. She spent the bulk of her career at the Meijer Heart Center before her second retirement.
When Penny wasn’t working, she was spending time with her family and friends. She was lovingly known as the Gossip Queen and was always keeping up with all the news on anything and everything. If there was something to know, Penny would fill in the details.
She was best friends with her sisters and considered her nieces and nephews as “her kids”. She was a bit stubborn, fiercely independent and enjoyed collecting teddy bears. Penny was the perfect mixture of love, laughter and family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Penny is survived by her sister Jackie Verboom; her nieces and nephews: Julee Meeter, Randy (Luke Martin) Stevens, David (Gina) Stevens and Amy (Jason) Owen; and her great-nieces and nephews: Dustin, Julius, Amber, Taylor, Miles, Brennen, Brayden and Allison as well many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Sharon (Ron) Stevens and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday November 23, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel.
