Patrick James Eardley “Coach”, age 79, passed away on March 20, 2023 surrounded by family. Pat graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School, class of 1961. He then went on to graduate from Western Michigan University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was wounded in Vietnam as part of the 9th infantry division, 3rd battalion, 47th infantry regiment, the mobile riverine force.
Surviving him are: his wife of 52 years, Kathleen; his children, John (Jenn) Eardley, Michael (Kim) Eardley, and Molly (Tim) Wunderlich, and Ryan (Dawn) Eardley; his grandchildren: James, Katie, and Elizabeth Eardley, Frank, Patti, and Ben Wunderlich, and Emma Eardley; two step-grandchildren, Jayna and Josh Olosky; siblings, Maureen Curran, Julie (Phillip) Boggiano, Kathleen Bricker, Joellyn (David) Potgeter, Robert (Mary) Eardley, James Eardley, Jane McCollister, and Colleen (David) Lignell; as well as, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held, on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel where a rosary will be said at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Alphonsus Church, family will welcome guests one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations in memory of Pat can be directed Care Team Hospice or the St. Alphonsus Food and Clothing Pantry.
