Paul Michael Kaderabek, age 95, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Paul was born on November 22, 1929 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Francis and Cecelia Kaderabek.
Paul spent his early life in the Manitowoc area. He attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and in 1958 he married Kathleen Sheehan. As a result of a job transfer with Dun & Bradstreet, Paul and Kathy relocated to Grand Rapids in 1967, where they raised their family and lived the remainder of their lives. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran and served his country during the Korean war. He has been a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for 58 years. Paul was gregarious and full of stories and jokes; he sang in his church choir, played golf with the Great Lakes Seniors Club through this fall and bowled in multiple leagues at Northfield Lanes through last week. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Casino Club, where he was an avid and excellent bridge, cribbage and sheepshead player. Paul was a life-long and faithful fan of the Green Bay Packers (and eagerly read each season's Packer Report). He was also an author, who wrote down many of his legendary stories in four self-published collections. Paul was a character who made friends wherever he went. His quick wit and fun-loving attitude will be missed by all who knew him. His children cherish the upbringing he provided.
Paul met Nancy Dobry 7 years ago and they quickly became loving and fun partners, watching sports together, sharing parties and special events and making even more friends.
Paul was preceded in death by: wife, Kathleen Kaderabek, who passed in 2016; parents, Francis and Cecelia Kaderabek; brother, Leonard (Shirley) Kaderabek; and sister, Myrtle (Lawrence) Antonie.
Paul is survived by: children, Lisa (Stuart Warner) Kaderabek, Paul (Sarah) Kaderabek, and Colleen (Terry) O'Brien; grandchildren, Benjamin and Bex, Max and Jack, and Joseph (Jane), Bailey, Luke and Cecilia; great grandchildren, Daniel and Peter; brother, Francis Kaderabek; partner, Nancy Dobry; as well as golfing, bowling and card buddies, friends and extended family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 7th, 2025 at Reyers North Valley Chapel from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day, Saturday, February 8th at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The family will welcome guests an hour prior to the start of mass. Paul will be interred at Fairplains Cemetery.
