Raymond Marvin Donaldson

Survived by his loving wife of 47 years Janice “Smedberg” Donaldson. Also survived by son Tom (Sally) Donaldson, grandchildren Courtney (Dev) Shah, Blake (Amy) Donaldson, 4 great grandchildren and sister Elaine Weaver.

Preceded in death by his parents, son Gary Donaldson, siblings, William (Betty) Donaldson and Robert (Iola) Donaldson, Margaret (Melvin) Gail, Josephine (Bernard) Napier and brother in law Eugene Weaver.

Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre. After serving his country Ray worked at Lear Siegler for 39.5 years as a cost accounting manager. He was an avid MSU fan. He loved golf, travel and all sports. Ray was a very compassionate man who always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed.

Visitatation for Ray will take place on Sunday December 10, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49505. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Monday December 11, 2017 starting at 11 a.m. also at Reyers North Valley Chapel. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The American Cancer Society or the Grand Rapids Humane Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reyers North Valley Chapel funeral home.
